Welded Wing

A little while ago I decided to transform some metal scrapings to something nicer.

The thing I had in mind was a wing, since the parts where really small and might work well as feathers.

So I got a piece of scratch sheet mental, bent it to a guide and started to arrange the scrapings, fixing them with some paper tape.

It took me a while to realize, that the welding wasn’t going to good because of the zinc plating these scrapping were treated with. So, as you can see, it doesn’t look too smooth on the back of the wing.

Here is the finished wing, together with a pack of cigarettes for a size comparison.

To the left you see a glimpse of the laser cut metal 60s lamp I made, I’ll follow up with the blog entry on that one sometime soon.
